Curriculum
At Tiny Treasures Nursery, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inspiring environment for children aged six months to five years. Our educators are passionate about supporting each child’s unique development journey, ensuring that they feel valued, safe, and confident to explore their world.
Our curriculum is designed to engage and stimulate children in all aspects of learning, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Development Matters guidance. Our planning and teaching revolve around the theme of a carefully selected book every two weeks. Each new book introduces children to a world of imagination and learning, allowing them to explore all aspects of the EYFS curriculum. Through this thematic approach, we provide rich, immersive experiences that foster creativity, language development, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Our aim is for every child to confidently read CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words by the time they leave. Through a play-based, phonics-focused approach, we provide children with the foundational skills needed to decode simple words. Our interactive learning environment fosters letter recognition, sound blending, and early literacy skills in a fun and engaging way, ensuring that each child develops at their own pace. In addition to literacy, we focus on building strong numeracy skills. Children will learn to recognize and count numbers, and engage in activities that help them understand concepts such as finding one more and one less than a given number. By integrating counting and problem-solving into daily activities, we ensure that children leave nursery with a solid foundation in both reading and basic math, ready for the next stage of their educational journey.
We aim to enrich children with cultural capital by offering a diverse range of activities that promote holistic development. Learning through play is at the heart of our philosophy, and we incorporate elements of both the Curiosity Approach and Montessori methods to foster a love of learning and independence in each child.
